| BAS box - very pleased, but Mac owners beware |

I got a BAS box and am really pleased with the "tune" that is now in place for my D3. Makes it much more drivable, and over 2k rpm is really noticeably quicker and smoother.
Just a note of caution, my unit appeared to be DOA, with the buttons not working, and after investigation Pete thinks it could be because I plugged it into my Mac - where I run Windows XP in a VM partition, and this could have screwed it up.
Don't know for sure, but I'm definitely going to be using a windows box to run the BAS s/w if I need to in the future.
Pete lived up to his reputation by putting on a map direct to the D3 in his workshop whilst the unit was away to be fixed, and I then popped back to get it taken off, and use the BAS box as normal from that point.

Would be better to create a small partition with Boot Camp and actually boot into Windows. Will behave just like a PC then.
Unless you have a spare PC to use of course.
Did this for years so I could upgrade Nokia and HTC firmware. Never had an issue. Using a virtual machine caused all sorts of problems, especially with device drivers.

Thanks Simon. I do have a couple of Windows PCs as well, so it is no drama for me. And I choose to have VM so I can have seemless integration across OS x and Windows. Yes the VM partition can be a bit buggy, but it means I can open up MS Project files with the s/w installed in VM Windows, and the source coming from a local drive or e-mail on OS x.

Its better to use a PC and run mac as vmware for the rare occasions where its useful
