John Mortimer nicked / borrowed it from Rider Haggard’s “She” [ A'isha - Arabic: عائشة, Āʾisha‎; also spelled Aisha, Ayşe, Aiša, Ajša, Aïcha, or Ayesha (WikiP)] who was the original SWMBO.
Also see the Glossary section via this Site's wonderful Wiki under the DISCO3.CO.UK - Site name.

Hi AAA,
You are quite correct, except that the author was H. Rider Haggard. Wink

True, how true! Many thanks! Bow down
IFF (sic) he'd been from USA, 'spose he'd have been Rider H Haggard, and SWMBO - A-Cher. Just like in the 1950 [Errol Flynn, Dean Stockwell, and Paul Lukas] Film of Kim, Mahbub Ali, became Ma Booblie.
Still, this is probably "Off Topic"!

Fantastic........ a solution to a problem I didn't even know I had, but on close inspection, my key does not look too secure. Thanks

For over 6 years of D3/4 ownership I've kept my fob on a short lanyard & clip.

It's unobtrusive ie no real extra dangly bits.
I loop it around my belt loop and pop it into my pocket [giving added security & preventing loss].
When not in pocket it just clips onto itself ie when in D3 ignition or at home.
I also use the little black bead to add tension when it's looped.

Been working great for me, especially with the D4 where the key isn't required for ignition.

I use this...

It came with my Volvo keys (i used to have a Volvo estate) and when I changed it for the D3 I kept this bit! I'm guessing that you could get one from a volvo dealer if you wanted to. Very useful as it allows the key to rotate on the keyring.

And if you solder the rings together (after you've fitted it...), it'll never, ever come off again. Done this several times with dog collar rings 'cos they get weakened pretty quickly and you end up with a mutt without any visible ID. do you detach the collar from the dog before you solder ?
