Brainteaser - How fast?

A man has a 2 mile journey to undertake. For the first mile he averages 30 mph. So, how fast does he have to go in the second mile to average 60mph for the whole journey?

Can he ever do that? Given that he's already gone 2 minutes for 1 mile, he'll never reach 2 miles in 2 minutes..... (60MPH)

Well - I think he needs to drop through a wormhole & travel the second mile in 0 seconds in order to average 60 MPH over the two miles Shocked

Answer as above. It cannot be done. Having used the 2 minutes for the 1st mile he'd have to do the second mile in zero time. Even a barried up Corsa 1.2 can't go that fast Thumbs Up

Del, he still won't manage 60MPH average over the course of his 2 mile journey......
