After 3 attempts to rectify the mismatch in the paint, the dealer has thrown in the towel.
Land Rover has agreed to an assisted vehicle change, i.e. I get a replacement vehicle. It is due to be built 16 June and I might get it before the end of the month.
At last, an end to 3 months of hassle and aggravation. Horsey

I noticed when i picked my car up what look to be like very faint watermarkson the bonnett, i thought it was because the car was washed and left to dry before waxing.
I left as it thinking one day id get the polish of and redo it, but this weekend just gone i was taking a Bride to be to her wedding so i decided to clean the car up.
It now looks like the so called water marks may be lacquer marks, again very very faint and cant be seen in the day time only seen under faulse light if you look very hard for them.
Im now unsure what to do, is it me being fussy because they are only visible if false light or should i do something about it ?
I did mention it to my dealers and they said they would let the valeter take a look but im still undecided what to do as they are not seen in the day light.

If you arent satisfied.... |

.....you can reject the vehicle
there is a time limit of some days or weeks
but if the reason is legitimate the dealer has to conform
I think it's the sale of goods act.... BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Hi there, Speaking about bad paint jobs, Took delivery of Disco4 on May 27th 2010 Done 360 miles broke down om motorway while towing caravan, When Disco4 came back from dealers, Thought that i would give it a wash only to find the whole roof covered in little rust spots coming from below the paint, Dealer picking it up on Wednesday to give some guys from the Factory that just so happen to be visiting can look at the paint work, Cant wait to see what the outcome will be, Just hope that Its to my liking. 10plate Disco4 XS Izmir blue, Side steps, Full length roof rails,Tints,

Disco4Dave,are you sure it is coming from under the paint, and not just brake particle 'fallout' on the surface? If it is the former, I do hope you aren't going to accept a rub down and respray bodge up job. Reject the vehicle immediately, I really don't think you need to let them have a go at rectifying something as appalling as this. Crap! Utter Crap!

It is a sad reflection on quality control procedures both at LR and the dealer. Clearly they should give you a new car but I don't envy you in trying to get one ! To prevent the problem arising, I can only suggest what I do. The last time I picked up a new car I spent nearly 1 hr going over it in close detail to check for any problems. The sales guy got quite frustrated and ended up just leaving me to it. You are in a position of power before you sign for the car, afterwards .......

Just got Disco 4 back from dealers yesterday, They say that the issue with the paint is from when it was painted small metal particles in paint, If that is the case then the whole vehicle will start to do the same come time , Dealer wants to take Disco on Thursday to get respray but I told them no, Bit hard communicating at the moment with dealer as I am at work in India so everything has to be done through my wife and emails, But will not be accepting respray so only other option will be to fight for replacement. 10plate Disco4 XS Izmir blue, Side steps, Full length roof rails,Tints,
