Does anyone know if rims/wheels from RRS will fit Discovery3.

I was going to buy a set of RRS HSE wheels, £400 with new tyres but they are wider (9J vs 8J) so issues with insurance and fitting over brakes. Shame they would have looked good for off roading.

what are you talking about. I've got 19" RRS alloys on my D3 (see gallery), and although they are 9" wide (as opposed to the D3 19's being 8" wide), I've got 255/55x19 tyres, which are exactly the same as the 19's on a HSE are fitted with. They clear the brakes fine.

The usualy problem with RRS alloys (especially from eb@y, is they have 50 series tyres, load rated at 107, where as the D3 needs 55 series at 111, so you just need to swop the tyres.

I've now done over 5k miles on them, look great, with no problems. Even my dealer liked them. As they are LR alloys (not aftermarket) there is no insurance issue.

These had 50s, will have see if they are still available. Would have preferred to get the life out of the tyres rather than bin them (or try & flog them).

Thank you for your replies, will 255/55-19 mess up any of the electronics on the Disco 3. Guess it would look a bit odd with smaller diameter. Smile

No - 255/55x19 are standard on HSE D3. 255/50's are slight too small, so lower the gearing.

Wheels look great Al, nice C'van as well. We're looking at buying a van for start of next year. Will prob be something smaller as we would not get one of the large vans into out drive, also 1st caravan so that size looks too intimidating.

Note of caution - I have seen a disco with the 20" stormer wheels (9.5J and 275 section tyres)on. They get VERY close to the front suspension upright - probably OK until you go around a corner Shocked

Huggy - The suspension upright moves with the wheel, so will never get any closer than it is.

DSL - Even a 'van that big isn't noticeable on the back of a D3. Its a great tow car, both because of ite kerbweight, and engine power (response and smoothness)
