Well winter package is in the generic price list Heated screen & washer jets plus Heated front & rear seats. You cennot separate that have to take it as a whole.
I completely understand the positive effects of the heated screen but still, doesn´t it reflect too much of the light under specific conditions? (rain, twilight...)

I note that the tyre pressure sensors have fallen off the list. If you don't get this, be sure to check tyre pressures. Twice I've had punctures on my old D3 and if driving on gravel or dirt roads couldn't tell it from the driving characteristics. The D3's and D4's stability systems are so good that it can mast the fact that you have a flat. No doubt when approaching a corner or trying to suddenly pass you'd realise there is a problem in a most unfortunate manner. I now use a valve stem pressure monitoring system. Don't think the internal system is even available for the D4 here.

I've not added the full sized spare to my spec list.. am i mental/the only one not to do this? Sorry to hi-jack the thread!

I also went for hybrid TV but not RSE because of the cost.. again this may be a slightly unusual choice!

I have also my doubts about this option, as it decreases the rear approach angle, doesn´t it?

Spare size will make no difference to the departure angle, and it is one of the two or three options on the HSE that you'd be mad not to have, for the cost if nothing else. It is a steal.

2016 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 Landmark LE Auto Yulong WhiteDiscovery 4

So the disco 4 has been ordered Shocked

The options I ordered were:
Santorini black with Ebony interior and Grand black lacquer
Bi-xenon adaptive headlights
Centre cooler storage box
Full size alloy spare wheel
Heated steering wheel
iPod connection
Hybrid TV
20" alloys - as the car will mainly be a 'chelsea tractor' decided to go for these

So I did NOT order the following:
Active rear locking differential
Electronic tyre pressure monitoring
Park heating with remote
Privacy glass (to rear of B post) - will do aftermarket solution
Tow pack
Diesel particulate filter
RSE - will buy each child an Apple Tablet for amusement instead(!)
Surround camera system

I had ordered the Almond/Arabica interior but after much thought went back and changed the spec to Ebony - with three kids and no sand action, we could not see how we would keep the beige interior clean. Friends of ours have a different cream interior 4x4 and the floor area looks very ghastly after a few years of use.

Many thanks for all your help...I could probably tweak the spec even now so if there are any strong ideas, then please let me know.

PS: Great forum and contribution from the members. Thumbs Up

That's good to hear. We all originally liked the initial impact of the up market almond look so it was sort of painful to leave it behind.

I also notice that the D4 brochure lists the Santorini/ebony combination as 'designer recommended'....I hope the asked some real designers!

Great choice on the interior - mine is also Ebony. I have seen several almond ones at the dealers and they definitely do not look as fresh as mine. I had a Jag with Ivory leather once and it was a pain to keep clean.

Regarding the interior, there's different needs for different climes. Given the spat of 40C days we had last week, ebony interiors would be blistering. People here unplug seat heaters to prevent burns in case the seat heater is acidentally switched on Whistle . Any way of getting seat chillers?

Puntograle, Has your D4 arrived yet? I have recently ordered a similar spec HSE in Santorini black with Ebony interior, but like you, I am unsure on the interior colour, and now wondering whether to change the order to Almond/Arabica.
Mine will have;

20" wheels
Full size spare
Adaptive lights
Surround cameras
Heated s/wheel
iPod lead
Factory tow pack

Due October, 11MY.

I hope you are pleased with your choice.

Ray

DPF and full size spare

I would avoid the DPF. We had one on a VW Touran and the car broke down after 8 weeks because it got clogged up. Dealer came up with some crap that every week or so we had to go for a 30 drive on a fast road keeping it at 50mph+ to burn off the residue - great for reducing emissions! Apparently this has been a real headache with the 170 bhp 2L VW diesel. Needless to say the Touran and VW service was complete loss and we binned the pile of scrap with the dealer loosing about 8K in 8 weeks. Vowed never to touch a VW again.

I have also ordered my D4 without a full size spare. The full size wheel is so big and heavy it's almost impossible to change on your own. However, I haven't actually looked at a spacesaver in a D4 so I could have made a mistake here. I did splash out on the remote heater because I like the idea of a nice warm disco on winter mornings and pre-heating must be good for the engine.
Thoroughly enjoying my landrovers in the southwest.
