GRRRR - Suspension fault, normal ride height

Ok, Just got of the phone with SWMBO who tells me she has a intermittent suspension error with the Disco. The error message on the dash says: "Suspension fault - normal ride height only" and the amber light comes on.
I am currently away for business and have no access to fault codes and so.

SWMBO thinks it might have to do with the cold weather (it is minus 8 in Belgium) and obviously the roads are dirty because of the white stuff...I personally think that should not be a problem.

I had a wheel alignment done just before I left (a week and a half ago). Could that possibly have caused this?
SWMBO says she only has this problem in the morning when it is really cold. In the afternoon she says the car drives just fine.

Any ideas ???

TIA

Erwin

Clears the fault code when she recycles the ignition or is it on constantly?
Most likely an air drier issue.

SWMBO said this morning the fault only happens in the morning, when the car is warmed up she has no issues the rest of the day...

I'll have it checked by my indie anyway...I hope it is the air dryer...seems a lot cheaper than a new compressor...

99% its the air drier. Had the same symptoms twice over the last years.
Replace the silicon in the canister or replace the canister itself. Also change the little vent.

If your indie says something else I would heavily doubt his diagnose.

Car is with my indie now....it is not the compressor, it is not the height sensor...yet the sensor seems to fail every time. Indie is thinking it must be the wiring loom....so far no luck though. He can't find where the cable is interrupted....

hello bud
Ive just added a tsb to my gallery, it may be your compressor has an internal valve leak, fairly Easy diy fix with the kit from landrover (kit cost around £18). My rrs randomly showed the amber warning, reconed the compressor with the kit and all has been ok for over a year

New compressor, new height sensor and a new cable to the height sensor....problem solved....

Bad news...ah it wasn't cheap, good news...it's running smooth again, got teh new steering wheel installed and a 4 wheel alignment done. Feels as new!
