Hi FISHY,
Just to answer your question, I've had the XS7000 for about 15 months and it has both the crocodile clips and the "ring connectors".

Best Wishes,
Peter

Apologies to jump in on this thread with a question...but...

Is it possible to attach two batteries to the one charger...? I would want to keep both main and auxilliary battery topped up. (I don't particularly want to buy 3 of these - two for teh D3 and 1 for SWMBO car)

Unless (if anyone knows) will the main battery keep topping up the auxilliary battery whislt it is attached to something like a CTEK charger...?

I was thinking about this the other day as my intention is to either stick some Anderson connectors or just charge via the permanent live in the 7-pin towing connector.

As I'm about to install a double battey, then I had assumed that once the main battery is fully charged, then the split charging system will allow the auxiliary battery to start charging in much the same way it does via the alternator when the engine is running.

Does this sound correct?

It's not a good idea to charge two batteries at the same time.
The CTEK monitors the charged battery voltage during charging and adapts it's output voltage and current based on that. If two batteries are connected in parallel, the result might be that one is overcharged while the other is not fully charged.

It's much better to make use of the CTEK quick connectors and charge one battery at the time to get best benefit of the CTEK's charging strategy and get the maximum life from your batteries.

I have two XS3600s which I have had for some years and leave my Disco3 charging/serviced by one via my white towing socket for convenience. [Otherwise its a struggle getting to the battery in my garage. I also tie a white rag on the steering wheel because I am old and forgetful]
It keeps the vehicle battery in excellent state of charge and has never done any harm to the current Disco3, the earlier Disco3 or my Defender 110.
Excellent kit.

Just need to the time to take it out of the box and set it up...

I received my XS25000 today too.....

It is a bit bigger than I expected - it's like a large hardback book size - the photos on the website make it seem much smaller, but I guess it is relative.

The build quality is very good. Thumbs Up

I was going to publish a photo of the 3600 contra 25000, but never got round to it....

Yeah the 25000 is a solid bit of kit, compare it to other charger/starter's/supply unit's it not too big

Hi JF

I just wanted to check where you bought the extra cable from?

I want to connect my XS3600 via the eyelet terminals but I want a longer lead than the one supplied. It seems that CTEK only do the one length.

If you just bought your own cable, what type of cable do I need to extend the supplied length?

Any help would be great, as I really am a dummy with auto electrics. Very Happy

What about this new accessory lead, it has indictor lights on the end so you can read the charge from the battery and is only a tenner, in fact you could use the old lead to extend this one, I soldered my joints and which may be a good idea for you Wink

*The above link seems to charge £5 pus for delivery, there is however another store on a well known auction site that does it all in for £10.99 incl delivery, try searching for CTEK COMFORT INDICATOR EYELET (56-382) Wink

Fishy - I got a small length of normal 6mm cable from the automotive outlet that was selling the CTEK kit.

DiscoTrois - I have bought the same lead as well. Haven't installed it yet, though, as I was away this weekend.

I will be putting a lead in the D3 and the (now) spare in SWMBO car.
