Help, D3 not starting this morning |
|
Just had a new set of glow plugs fitted last week, and now she's been starting really well.
Has been sat on the drive since Sunday, (it's only Wednesday), but now refuses to start.
No system errors displayed.
Engine turning over normally, not slowing.
On second attempt, there was quite a lot of black smoke that exited the exhaust, but there was no firing that I could detect.
Any ideas?
Thanks This Game of Ghosts

No, the glow plug light goes off as normal.
I would say that everything appears normal, except that it won't bloody start This Game of Ghosts

a way to test if it's a glow plug fault again..is to plant your foot on the gas...and just turn it over and over.... she'll puff out smoke..but eventually it'll generate enough heat for her to fire up... you'll not see yourself for smoke at that point though.. 57 RRS TDV8

if it is below -20°C as here, your diesel might be frozen.... Some people get by
With a little understanding
Some people get by
With a whole lot more
I dont know
Why you gotta be so undemanding

Disco Diva, (kids named her), had new glow plugs last week at LR.
Appears that neither of them are working now. LR assist managed to get her to start, lots of smoke and very lumpy.
He recommended recovery, but the LR dealer who fitted the glow plugs is fully booked for the next 7 days!
Typical.
I love my LR's, but this is by far the worst and most unreliable car I've ever owned.
Cheers

I must admit it was sounding like glow plugs again..
Have you tried reading the riot act to the dealer... the work done was obviously at fault... that should bump you up the list surely! 57 RRS TDV8
