Been done to death so sorry.... Have read a couple of threads that imply EGR valve proplems can cause pull-a-way lag. Is this correct? Car is fine and going as well as it ever has, if not better, except for that cringable moment when you pull out of a junction and nothing happens for a second or two. Sure it was never this bad. Bit loath to take it to the stealers on the off chance as they will most likely just over write the ECU for the hell of it to see if that makes any difference. Would then need a quick trip to Derby!
I have never checked my Intercooler after 2 years of playing, but can't see this affecting the initial take off, just once the engine is drawing full air which does not seem to be a problem.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks, Richard. Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

I have the same thing and I have a fault code logged for EGR, From between 1500-2000 revs there is a lag, which I am sure has only recently started. It's almost like it's stuck in the wrong gear and won't accelerate.
Your welcome to have a go in mine, I can also read basic codes from the engine if that helps.
Was thinking of getting Iain to have a look when he is coming past to do some diagnostics on it.

Mine isnt remapped, just has the EGR's blanked, and there is much less lag when hitting the loud pedal, as it doesnt have to try and use crap air when wanting to pull, its full of lovely clean stuff.

Mines Auto which I think is worse anyway. It's as if it thinks about it before doing anything as once it starts to move it flies. It's one of the great benifits of fly by wire I suppose Out of w'tee in a couple of months so the mod is looking promissing...
Thanks Andy, would be good to have a look at any error codes sometime. As said above, it's fine the second it starts to roll, it's just the 2 seconds of all before that!
I would be happy to 'share' a few hours of TFC with you sometime next time he's in town, (I hear he's a bit of a tart!), to have a going over of the machines and a some advice & beer. I'm sure we could drag him out for a chug up the harbour (and more beers) if you were on for it when finished..

Neil, richard,
I'm due a visit from TFC (I had to postpone a booking due to work getting in the way ) to repair the rubber boot on SWMBO's D3, (lost somewhere in a muddy puddle on salisbury plain and to fit a dual battery set up on my tango machine - it sounds like a good plan to have a TFC fest if it suits his diary , i'm happy to host or travel to whoever has the biggest drive (although drving both could be tricky!) i contact him and see if he can squeeze me in while he's down here opps!!!
cheers

Who wants to arrange it, I have plenty of space at the office for us to gather for Iain to have a look. I know this isn't far for XTC and DaveM, it's about 20 miles from Niel.

Sounds good, could well be more than a days worth though as Dave's battery install will take a fair few hours. I should see Iain at LRW next weekend so I'll see what he thinks about a couple of days on the south coast! Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

I have a delay too. As I have a V8 I think it has more to do with the gearbox needing to get in the right gear before the engine management allows the engine to increase power.
It's like a big company The management noticed something, then they need to organise a meeting before they can make a decission.
I Think the D3 does well. Having to get a decission from different managements within 2 seconds. Roel

Yep new EGR valve, TFC identified it and I also logged it on my code reader. I also had a faulty injector, which was changed a couple of months after the EGR.
I can read your codes if you like, save about 60 minutes of diagnostic time at the dealer apparently
EDIT Just noticed your in York, so not really close enough to read them. I would get TFC to read the codes and fit a new one if required
