A very cheap mod but really useful for me was making the front 12v ciggy sockets permanently live by replacing one of the relays behind the bottom glove box with a link wire, total cost 20p.
Now that would be useful, esp for the carpooterthinamyjig!
Lee, sounds very interesting, do you have any info on how to do that? I think it would be very useful for the carputer, although a split charge is probably what I'm going to end up doing.

Just looked at that, I even posted early in the thread but obviously never saw the end of it. Looks straight forward - just need to get a soldering iron!
That's a fantastic and cheap mod - Kevin it doesn't get any better than that! D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Surely I'll need to make up both ends of the cable, do you just crimp it on then? D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Come on...this is supposed to be low-cost modification thread....
And here you are taking about spade connectors and things that would take the mod well out of budget.

Cheapest mod I can think of would be an air freshener .... even Dennis could live with that I presume? A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

Tanters, Sorry I reported your post last night - I can see the website humour now. Looks like I need to adjust a bit.
As for air fresheners, Mavis has just run the vacuum round picking up Daisys fluff and we now smell of lavender well the house not us!. I like lavender in cars but please no nasty lemon citrus its very vulgar.
Anyway off to the doctors in a few minutes for my back. I hurt it whilst playing with Mary and John at the weekend. We all have some good times together, they are so fit and flexible for their ages.
That is why I want a Discovery 3 so I do not have to keep bending over to get in a car.

Mary and John are not neighbours it would be lovely if they were as they have some lovely holiday Souvenirs from the costa del. We meet up with them every few weeks for a play and then we go for a fish and chip supper. We go to the Rec on Booth Street for Badmington with them.
