Not worried about replacing it as such....had all that stuff to bits plenty of times, I just can't see how it's broken that's annoying me....nil admirari
Mine stopped working as well heres a link to some pictures. Of how it all comes apart.
The one picture of the metal spring roll fitted into place is wrong it actually needed to be flipped over. Mines still broken tho. The actual plastic holding the spring on mine was broken so the spring just fell off behind the tray again.

Mine has gone in the same way, one of the plastic lugs holding the spring fell off and it disappeared back behind the ashtray holder.
Does anyone know the part #, or would TLO know this as a common part if I ring him to order one.
Also is it worth ordering any spare clips for the h-trim at the same time?

I don't smoke anymore, I was fortunate enough to be able to give it up about 6 or 7 years ago.
My ashtray was used for change and boxes of ear plugs. It was one of these which got jammed into where the spring was and broke one of the lugs (pardon the pun).

When mine went I ended up messing around for a whole day trying to fix it thinking it would cost a fortune but Nick (tlo) supplied the whole unit new for about a tenner so it's not worth the hassle of attempting to sort it guys.

I know it’s an old thread, but have you tried this?
Bought an 09 RR Autobiography today and while fiddling with things I popped the ashtray door open. It wouldn’t shut (kept popping back open). I’m thinking a small piece of Velcro will do the trick for about 5¢ and I’ll never have to worry about it again. Anyone try this?

I removed the spring from the back of mine. I have to pull it open and push it closed now. Nice and easy fix that didn’t cost a penny
