Something strange going on here, they just phoned me and offered Luxurycare at £45 a month, which looks a whole lot better policy than the secure care one. One of the milage bands goes from 60 - 70 000, wonder if that is the difference.
I have emailed back the specific question about the park brake, awaiting a response now!

The Luxury care is a list of what isn't covered rather than the one you had which has a list of what is covered, a huge difference ........ i think! Of course the proof is in the claiming.

That's strange, I've just done an on-line quote application, and it's only offered the Majorcare and Extracare policies for my Disco. 57 RRS TDV8

Thank you for your replies,
I do love my D3 but didn't expect so many faults so soon, I just want to have a smooth drive & feel confident in my Disco
I'm sorry, they are hardly faults, park brake, well ok common issue but not sure what they did to charge you that kind of money, (normally about 2 hours labour max to clean and re-adjust), put things in to prospective friend
55 plate, 317k miles, egr failure x 1, park brake squeal x 2, n/s front torsion x 1, replacement n/s front driveshaft seal x 1, gearbox flush and refill x 1. 8)
creaking heater, yep everytime, stop keeping it full on
mpg, same as everyone

I have just taken out a rolling policy with Warranty Direct, £61 per month for the Extra care with emmsions and Air bag cover, nil excess, nil parts contribution (thanks to a post and pm from John C )upto 30k pa, max term 36 mths or max milage of 130k,
I asked if the handbrake motor was covered and was told YES, i have asked them to document this in the policy notes,
My Disco 3 is just coming upto 3yrs old and has done 69K

Well, there's a surprise, when asked a few pointed questions the price with Warranty Direct has just doubled to £91.66 a month. Have also asked about adding wear and tear to my existing Warrantywise policy and I still don't have a clue what is the best way to go, each of them has their pluses and minuses. I think as far as my existing policy goes, if i am told it is wearing then I should just run it until it breaks then I will be covered
The only way to get close to covering everything is to get both policys!

And yet another surprise, Warranty Direct phoned again, "we'll see what we can do on price for you." I think the secret to getting a half decent price is to sit and wait and the price comes tumbling down.

I just picked up a WD Luxury Care cover with a Franchised Main Dealer at £450 per year with £50 excess. Inludes airbag and emmissions. Checked it covers APB and told yes. Basically I had a quote for £729 and waited for them to call me, this was the lowest they could go after 4 calls. 64k on the clock on an 06 reg.
