I've got a room that is totally tiles in those glossy white old tiles (bit like a butchers )
It's going to be my study, what's the best way of lining it? Would I get any problems if I just dot & dab it with pasterboard? (just thinking of cold tiles, warm room, air gap, condensation?) But I don't know if it would really be a problem.
Sorry, not much help for your business, but would appreciate the advice Bodsys Brake Bible

Hi Bodsy ,best to remove tiles even though drywall adhesive would adhere to them as it does most surfaces if tiles do become loose from weight of bords and adhesive could result in bords coming off . If plaster is intact underneath would be wiser to adhere to this .Will need pva first after tile removal . 100% job is to remove tiles and plaster back too brick to ensure piece of mind . On subject of condensation thermal insulation plasterboard is the best choice dependant on what you require ,check spec at merchants or supplier for your particular job. hope this helps

Thanks for the info
The tiles are very VERY solidly fixed to the walls (I think they used cement!) so I'm really trying to avoid having to remove them (floor to ceiling on all four walls......) unless I really have to....
Oh, forgot to mention, house is 200 years old, so solid brick thick walls underneath. I think they must have tiled that room in probably 1910, it used to belong to the Manager of one of the big Tileries round here (long since gone)
Are there different grades of drywall adhesive? Bodsys Brake Bible

Hopefully, nobody will come along to ask you how thick your plaster is??? If they do just ignore Badda bing.......How you doin'?

if you want to dryline over and think they are solid enough the go for the thermal p,board probably 3X price of normal board but well worth it for warmth and combating condesation. Most drywall adhesives will do the job ,there is one called multi purpose for thermal boards but most will do the job ,gypsum is the better quality but not much between them. You can also put approx 6-8 large screws or frame fixings in each board evenly spaced out sunk just below surface before skim ....
