One of the towbar mounted bike racks would do the trick for carrying skis upright. I think Pendle do a dedicated ski adaptor for theirs? Thule also do a "backup" box that sits on their bike carrier which is cavernous.

One tip for the roofbox is to buy some of those JML vac bags. You would be astonished just how small things will pack down if you stick them in an airtight bag and attach a vacuum cleaner. Duvets shrink to the size of pillows, etc. Buy twice as many bags as you think you need, as I guarantee you'll puncture a couple of them at some point, but they are cheap as chips.

ND,

Would one then need to pack the vacuum cleaner to repack for the return journey?? Just curious Whistle

I recommend them - I use one. Big advantage is that it is very easy to get to (ie low down). And then skis can go up top.

Disadvantage is that it can be tricky to use all available space due to the way the top opens. Just need to pack the right items in the right types of bags/holders. You can't just fill it with only loose items.

leaking windscreen!! Does anyone have a similar problem?

It seems to take in water from the top right hand seat...drivers seat side....and from the area just above the rear view mirror. This affects the central locking and I therefore have to use the manual alternative until the car is dry. I am out of warranty of course. Do Landrover recognise this as a fault and do you have any thoughts on what action I might take.

Many thanks.

We do what ND said, the JML bags are ideal and a little 12v dirt devil does the job perfect....

Maxxraxx, who arguably make the best bike rack out there (without starting an argument...) provide a ski rack accessory.

I've never used one, but it looks like it would work and at 25 quid a shot, it's probably worth a punt
