Very happy with my D4 but I can't get my address book onto the car phone display. I use a Blackberry 8900. Anyone else have the same problem or any clue how to do it? Thanks

Budweiser - you might well need to update the Blackberry software to the latest version.
I had exactly the same problem, could not get address book to load, and the update fixed it. Go to Settings, Options, Advanced Options, Wireless Update.
Good luck! Paul

Chaps, just as aside, when you have uploaded the contacts on to the vehicle, can you access those on the SATNAV to use as a destination? 1996 D1 (Legendary workhorse) - now KIA

Still can't get it to work, I can't be the only with an 8900 Curve BB. Any help would be appreciated. Dealer doesn't know what to do either

Hi BW - I have the same problem with my Curve the dealer connected phone to Bluetooth when I picked it up....i Have not updated the software however on the landrover web site it mentions you can not view contats with the curve so I think it is one of those things! Unless you downgrade the phone or Blackberry have a fix....
If I get it to work i will let you know![/code]

Looks like I just joined this club - yup, the BB8900 phonebook don't sync with the D4
I'm going to see if BB are planning to release their latest software version (4.5x) on to the 8900, maybe that'll fix it LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I had exactly the same problem when I got my D4 in September. Address book was garbled. Got the latest software update for my BB Storm from my provider (Vodaphone) now works perfectly.
Only gripe I have is with pairing - especially on cold mornings. Noticed this thread appears quite often on this forum but nobody has come up with a definitive answer. Have not tried to interest the dealer because by the time I get there it pairs OK!

I've had exactly the same problem over the weekend with my BB 9000 Bold and after spending a lot of time trying to work through the BB website ( I used to think I was good at these type of things) I finally found the upgrade area for the UK and upgraded to v4.6.0.303 which as fixed the sync perfectly. Be careful as there is a v4.7 for US use that just seem to confuse things. So in summary the above Version works. As for how many contacts it will store I'm confused because this morning it wouldn't show anything after R but when I found the number using the handset it then showed the name on the screen???? I'm wondering how long it needs to syn a full BB contact list? It's my mud so keep out!

I had tried the wireless update and always got "No updates Available" but never thought to try via Vodafone website.
I went via the vodafone website to the blackberry one through their link, not directly, and selected Software updates, there I got the option to update 8900 from 4.1.1.168 to:
4.6.1.310, or even
5.0.0.411
So being a cautious sole, I've tried the 4.6.1.310 version first and on initial checking the Address Book has now been transferred.
I'll do some test of the other functions tomorrow and will report back any findings. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I forgot to mention last night: Although the phonebook worked with v4.6.1.310, Caller ID didn’t work.
Following the update of the device software last night, I also checked for updates to the Desktop Manager and upgraded that to the latest version 5.0.1.28. This then reported more 4.1.x.x updates to the device were available, so I tried these next – only took 10 minutes to update the device this time. Still no caller ID, but phonebook worked.
So this morning I upgraded the device to v 5.0.0.411. Be aware that like the previous upgrade last night it took over an hour to complete and you can’t access the phone whilst it’s running the update. You’ll also need to put in the password occasionally so it can’t be left unattended for the whole update.
Anyway, all done, and the phone book works, but still no caller ID. For me that's acceptable, but hopefully in future Blackberry will get that fix too.
Good luck! LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Glad to hear you are you are making progress. Initially I was at a similar stage where an incoming call would only display the callers number. Difficult to know who to answer or not depending if you recognised the number!
However with that latest SW upgrade which I have had for some time now, the caller id works fine - as long as it is a "known" number in your contact list. It is a Blackberry "Storm" I am using (9500). There is another forum - google "crackberry" where this issue may be addressed. Be warned it is a bit of a "geeky" site!
Good Luck
