I have the standard non touch screen HK audio system and have just conected up my Iphone to the AUx in at the rear of the center cubby box but have found the volume setting to much lower than radio or CD player settings. I have tried 2 other MP3 player and same result. Has anyone else experienced this? I have tried a couple of different cables and same result.
I have also installed (plugged in) a Kensington Liquidaux Delux that has a cradle holder for iphone/ipod that charges and connect to the aux in via the base connector in the cradle, so as soon as you place iphone in craddle it is charging and connected up to aux input. It also has a steering wheel mounted remote control. This would seem like the ultimate iphone accessorie as it works perfectly with Bluetooth allowing calls to be made and recieved whilst playing tunes from and charging your iphone. Only proble I have is the lack of volume available from sources plugged into the Aux in port.
Cheers

My phone needs to be on max volume to get reasonable volume from the audio system. I made-up the lead so I had something to listen to on the 500 km trip home with the new vehicle.

Was the same with my OEM head unit, fine with aftermarket one as you can adjust it. Any adjustment for input volume in the menus?

Guys you have to buy a connection cable that incorporates an amplifier that cures the problem. It was mentioned on the forum but I can't find it at the moment. You could always google it.

Hi Horto,
I had good success with this adapter:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage..._Id=193794
Got it from Tandy for about $40. Rather than permanently using a power socket all the time, I bought a socket and plugged into a spare 12V socket from the fuse box. Hole in the back of the upper glovebox and hide it all in there. Adjust volume on the Belkin adapter to suit and you're done.
Cheers,
Rob

Hi, i have just purchased a 2010 LR4 and found that someone managed to break the lead off inside the plug. I managed to strip it out and remove the broken piece but now it seems like only one sides speakers work with the AUX plug. I have spoken to my agents but they seem to be having problems tracing me a new one or more specifically getting a part number. can anyone point me in a direction where to get a new one. One small problem though, I am in New Zealand so need a place that is willing to ship it to NZ.

You also get an option on iTunes on a laptop to to go in to sound settings and raise the volume of a song or album as I found it was set below halfway that helped me when connecting to portable speakers via a aux connection! Don't ask me why it's like this but I found it and it worked for me although I haven't tried connecting my phone to the aux in the disco yet! You can get apps that increase the earphone volume. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

The thing is the left hand side volume is perfect, same as the radio volume but the right hand side has next to no volume at all. O well, we will see when the new AUX arrives.
