Not too bad £25 vat. Only needs the glass and backing.
Thanks to Derek @ Guy Salmon for temp repair involving lots of tape! New glass will be fitted tomorrow morning.

Goldman, don't use T Cut, use a G3 cutting compound but it will depend how deep and the colour of your car as to how good the finish is. TFC, Dom and I got bad scratches greenlaning and they did polish out. Mine you could put a finger nail into so they were deep. My brother in law used to prepare proto types for many car manufacturers all over the world, this is what he recommends, I think Dom was very pleased with the results.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

why did you sell rrs d3matt did you have a problem with it
No. RRS was excellent and 100% reliable. Had it nearly a year and did 20,000 miles. Decided to sell my T5 van and go back to a car. Wanted a D3 (for load size), but couldn't afford both a D3 and the RRS. Therefore, sold both vehicles. Got a new D3 for me. Wife gets a new Mini Cooper Convertible next week.Matt

Sorry to hear that Gareth -exactly the same thing happened to my missus. She was so narked that she did a 'U' in the road & chased after him. Not quite sure what she was going to do if she caught up with white van man mind -prob good that she didn't as it would probably have got her into trouble one way or another!
Good news is that the glass & cover aren't as dear to buy as you think. Just make sure the magnification of the existing N/S lens is the same. Ours weren't & after going cross eyed for a bit they were both changed to a matching pair!!Richard

Yeah I was..........but don't go and scratch the same panel again a few weeks later because you can't do it twice , still I solved that and bought a new one without any scratches 2004 Discovery 3 - gone

Went to pick up new mirror, and they have got the wrong part.
There are several different types of mirror available, Flat or Convex, with either no writing, American, or Arabic version of "Objects in the rear view mirror are closer than they appear"
Anyway, they got me a no writing flat mirror, when it needs to be a no writing convex in the UK.
Tuesday delivery now.

Sorry to here about the smack on Torky Lane - its full of 90 degree bends just like the Torky Road.
I went up the Goyt Valley a few weeks ago in the sunshine to show Mrs N where you'd been and met a similar vehicle coming the other way - fortunately this guy was sensible - we both stopped and folded in our driver side mirrors and passed without incident - a decent WVM driver Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
