Wheel Clean

I use car wash, and a sponge (in a separate bucket to my 'body' wash) and do this weekly.

To give them a good clean, I also have used AutoGlym Engine and Machine Cleaner as it is non-acid, non-alkaline.

I have had a very bad experience with a Holden Jackaroo (Vauxhall/Opel Monterey, Isuzu Trooper) from using an alkaline cleaner on the wheels.

Hi ej

Like Glymmer_Man I use a carwash (use good quality and not an acidic or alkaline one, mine's actually a gel) but do the wheels last. The lambswool glove then gets a good clean before the next car wash.

I try to do it once every one or two weeks as I have noted the disc brake dust likes to embed itself in the Land Rover's wheel paint.

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

I use Meguire's "Hot Rims" - very effective!

I use 'Mother Earth M-U-D 60\40 supermix' for that traditional Land Rover look Wink

Only on the wheels? I think it works best when applied liberally all over Wink

I'm going to 2nd Meguire's Hot Rims. Been using it for a couple years now on all my cars. Haven't found anything this strong yet still safe for the wheel finish.

P21S wheel cleaner & gel is also very good.
