Gents , can anyone please advise if disconnectimg battery clears any fault code history.

Fraid not.
If a fault is actually fixed, eg a faulty compressor replaced, some systems can clear their own memories after so many driving cycles without the fault that caused them being present, however in my experience the faults are still in memory, just not with such a high status (ie archive rather than current)

Thanks , that is actually good news. 
The vehicle is due to be hooked up for diagnostics tomorrow.
When this booking was made I had the battery disconnected for charging and was concerned that I may have wiped any history.
