FBH D4 mod?!
I see lots of people have added a GSM facility to the D3 FBH which sounds a cool gadget to have.
noticed while reading the manual for the D4 the section on timed Climate Control. now I presume this referes to where you have stumped up the £1k (or so) for the remote heat facility which is both remote control but also timed settings can be programmed in according to the manual.
do any of you think this could be a simple (to the likes of Wiggs!) bit of programming to unlock as with the 4x4 option for the timed bit? not too bothered about the remote option but if it was a quick unlock for the timer that would be useful?! 8)XC90 T8 R Design Pro

I think they're still working on what D4 goodies can be unlocked, but I would imagine that there would need to be at least one updated (remote) module to get this to work. I'm sure it will be revealed in the fullness of time Bodsys Brake Bible

Of course the 4x4 info TV on the move are all in my list of first to doos.

That was what my post was aimed at.
I cant see it being a problem to do the standard Oval timer and GSM mod , but it may be better to do the genuine kit route.
Ill price the bits tomorrow .

when you start digging in to the software of the D4 it would be helpful to know if the in car heater programming can be unlocked. I'm not too bothered about needing it to be remote control but would like the software available to set the time control. I would have though the software for this control is just locked away but there is additional hardware to contol it remotely. XC90 T8 R Design Pro

We have some big plans for this/next year, with some exciting new stuff hopefully coming available.
I have been working on the new D4 and RRS 2010 stuff for some months now even before it was available to the public, it has now progressed that i cant finish the developement untill we have a car here 24/7.
Which is way i had to trade my beloved RRS in for a new D4.
There is no better way to produce the best products on the market unless you actually own the car your producing the products for.
This is where real developement can be done, changes made where needed to perfect the products we aim to sell.
Im a big believer in the products i sell and would only sell what im willing to use my self on my own cars.

I dont take your post as criticism at all.
But its a valid point you rase, yes there is probabally more D3/4 customers than the RRS ones.
To clarify things which do cross my mind ill type more to help people understand my situation as a person and a business owner.
My business is aimed arround developement or landrover tuning products and related things.
I choose landrovers over the mojority of branded cars because i actually love what i do and love landrovers which is why i specialise in them.
I got the D4, not as second best to the 2010 RRS but instead of because i could personally not warrant the extra 17k ish for the RRS on a personal car to use for a business purposes.
Ultimatly in this instance the business needs the TDV6 3.0L engine to progress in the world of tuning and developement of the D4 and RRS 2010 models,and this is the option i had to get that as a tool.
It will serve me better as a work/personal tool to have the rear load space of the new D4 for work etc etc while still having a very nice car so im not disapointed that ive changed but i will miss my RRS
Admitingly there will be profit to be made in the long run from the developement of the D4 and RRS products or i would have never orderd the car.
BUT on the same note there is also a 40K personal loss to be made if it went horibly wrong.
If i could warrant the cost of a new RRS at about 60k i would still probabaly not buy one.
There is always the thoughts attached from visiting customers and some forum readers that "he" must be making to much money if he can afford such a hi priced car.
Well they could not be more wrong !! tuning cars or having a small developement company of any sort does not make the profit people actually think.
Some times belive it or not id actually be better filling shelfs at Tesco for the work it takes to do and the return on that work in money.
The money that will have paid for my personal car belive it or not is not made soley from tuning them and you D3/4 boys.
Ive driven scrap cars ever since i passed my test some years agao and its taken me a long time to build up to be able to buy a nice car.
I would assume other people are in the same boat as me so i dont feel sorry for my self but i also dont want people to think im made rich by selling them products because that aint true.

TBH Im actually glad that sort of question was asked because it has given me a reason to answer with some things ive had on my mind for some time.
As i said, i think very like most others, and i do worry what people think about me and the stigma attached of running such a business and driving a nice car.
