why is my disco running flat upto 2000rpm ERG valve? how is it disabled/bypassed

Because you have a dead EGR valve...

Can be blanked by using blanking plates or 2p pieces. Its well documented on here. Try a search. There was a thread all about how to blank them My D3 Build Thread
