Power loss help!

Hi just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
I was travelling in my mates Disco3 TDV6 55 plate in the outside lane of the motorway when "Special Programs Off" flashed up. This was followed by a sudden loss of power. It felt like the car was in safe mode power limiting. There were no bings, bongs or fault lights.
I suggested switching off removing the key and starting again. This seemed to clear the fault and we continued our journey.
Never had this before on my own D3. Could it be a software glitch or could it be something more serious to worry about.
Thanks for any replies

Probably a glitch with a height sensor or similar

Either get the codes read and go from there, or wait and see if it happens again...
Also will come up if the battery drops below a set voltage, may be worth checking the battery condition, and if the alternator is still charging OK

Hi All,
Thanks for previous reply. This post is actually concerning my vehicle kindly posted by my mate Chad. Also thought might be worth mentioning that after stopping in hard shoulder before turning ignition off the car seemed to rev ok , set off slowly in first then into second and no power what so ever as if being pulled back.Under his instruction switched off waited couple of minutes and hey presto 200 miles home without another hiccup.55 plate ,Have only done 36 k due its 60 k service in 4 weeks will probably mention it to service dept then .Thanks for any help/advise offered.

intercooler hose or if it's due the 60k service soon it could be the fuel filter needing changing as I know this has cropped up on here before Thumbs Up
