Not today but Sunday spent the day out in Kielder forest helping out on the Kielder 4x4 Safari raising money for The Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team.
Bit overcast all day
Selection of different vehicles
Trying to support some fellow local volunteers

Alasdair has been out with us a few times, it is quite surprising how well the Merc handles off road, although he did put it in a ditch one time and it's bloody heavy to pull back out Cheers Ian

Normally I would use something a bit more grungy such as the quad bike, but yesterday I decided I'd use the D4 to get some feed to a couple of pheasant pens seeing as it was such a nice day. Loaded up with a quarter of a ton, then down a farm track to a little steep path that leads up to pen number one. reverse up that as far as traction and side clearance goes then unload the bags and walk them the last 20 yards into the pen.
Then off to the other pen which is across a couple of sheep infested fields. Same again, parked nearby and unloaded the rest of the bags and spread a bit of cheer in the pen. Then off home, tootling along a country road, then PING! a little Corsa of all things passing the other way threw a stone into the windscreen. Damn! The damage looks pretty small and is on the passenger side near the bottom. So later on today, the Autoglass man is coming to hopefully effect a repair. I hope that the heated windscreen isn't affected. Not easy to check this time of year. Oh well.

Made a small rubber mat to sit above the glovebox.
Guess who is fed-up with his wife's plastic glasses case and mobile phone sliding back and forth when she nests in the passenger seat.
