Well took the wife and daughter to Ikea at Lakeside Came back fully loaded two double beds two double matresses plus loads of other stuf. D4 was jam packed to the roof but performed very well. Overall it returned 33.8 mpg real brim to brim running at a steady 70mph on the motoway, well impressed as always MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Got her nice and clean.
Not going to do it again. The car is just too much surface to polish by hand. That's way too much like real work for my tastes. But Christmas is coming up so I'll have an excuse to get a polishing machine

I would love to know how you get 33.8mpg in your car! Is that the mpg showing on the lieometer, or as calculated with an app? The most I have ever got driving for 400+ miles on a motorway is 30.3mpg.

that was brim to brim filling at start and finish of journey and calculating from the fuel used and the mileage covered, I do record the figures with an app and it is the best I have ever done. Must say that the on board reading was from memory about 3mpg optomistic.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Drove it!
To most this must be the least exciting/interesting post on the site today or maybe longer? To me it was exciting as I haven't seen my car in over 2mths so getting to take it out for a run was great.
Now just to get used to the fact that I'm not going to see it again until August next year Nick
2010 D4 ....... now gone and replaced with a 05RRV Autobiography
Took it for its first service, wished I hadn't, serious implications for the future

Spent the day travelling around North Yorkshire today taking in some green lanes along the way, very wet day under foot and a touch of snow on the higher ground. Just the 2 of us out today, me in the D4 and George in his rather special Defender 110
