Dealer I bought from made no mention of running in at all; dealer my boss test drove with reckons the "500 miles of be gentle with it" is more about bedding in brakes and tyres than running in the engine - he was also of the opinion that these are effectively run in on the bench, as per the comments in the thread linked above
That said, keeping it under 3000 rpm isn't that much of a hardship with the 3.0l engine
