Just book as normal - they have a height bar which they check if you will fit - if not (eg rack on top) they will send you to the high vehicle section - no need to pre book this.
Also my tactic now is to check in and just head for "France' done it every time rather than parkign up and waiting to be called - never once (in about 10 crossings each way) been told to go back an wait. Was questioned once about 1am - just told them someone waved me through that way - they just tutted and said "okay". 8)

Don't get me wrong, done Calais, Bruges etc... and had great weekends away but can't see value in shopping at the present euro rate.
its part of our xmas preperations, and some foods to get for the festive season you canny get easily over here.

On their website Eurotunnel states you have to choose single deck carriage if your vehicle is 1,85 m+
(see: www.eurotunnel.com)
