I agree I think a X5 would kill me if I got one.
It would be always one of those things I regreted doing.
I don't know how true it is but my dealer has told me today Landrover have stoped making the D4 for a short time , only a few weeks.
Untill more parts arrive.
I suppose I'll have to wait like the rest of the customers

Ive been back into my dealers today asking questions.
Aparently the parts they were waiting for are things like , rear view cameras and the things that areon the extra options list.
He did show me a document stating that the cameras bar now back to normal and he said build of cars is due to start again in the next few days.
The good news for me is after a long nogotiation ive managed to get my cars delivery date to the 28th of December and at the 15% vat rate

Yes - it's amazing how dspite the alleged shortage of cars there is indeed availability Suspect there will be a few dealers left with stock that they have been preordering on their hands - terrible shame for them if they were hoping that an apparent shortage of order slots would hold prices up
As for the VAT, I see that broadspeed.com have found dealers who will hold it at 15% till 31 March - they will invoice in December, but the snag is that they also want payment by 31/12 (imho, that's a risk as you would just be an ordinary creditor of the dealership should it go out of business in the interim ).
