Are you thinking of joing Si or setting up a South East section?? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

The national network of 4x4 response is still a bit wet behind the ears as far as I can see - the site has had '88' hits so far.
It looks as though smaller regional or county groups set up and do their own thang first - some seem very well established - and are now being invited to the national co-ordination site.
There doesn't appear to be a South east or Surrey set up - maybe we should find out a bit more, assess the potential demands and take it from there?
Perhaps we can discuss this at the Pub meet on 26th?? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Hi
I have just logged on to provide you with the latest info.
Dickgriff, you are quite right the 'National Network' is a bit wet behind the ears. But as it only went 'live' last weekend we can live with that. With regard to the number of hits. I only put the counter on there yesterday and its over 230 now.
A press release was sent out last Sunday so we are expecting far more interest over the next fews days/weeks.
Please dont confuse the 'National Network' with a megaclub. You are quite right when you say that some smaller regional groups are well set up and thats how it should be. I would include us in that:
http://eastanglian.4x4response.net
The national network aims to act as a umberella association, setting standards and helping the regional clubs by sharing information and liaising with the Emergency service governing bodies. A bit like ALSAR does for the local sarch and rescue groups. Its aim is to help establish a regional 4x4 response group in every part of the UK (we are now getting interest from the USA as well!)
You are also correct that, to the best of our knowledge, there isn't a group in the South East. If you are interested in setting up a group please use the national forum as a means of colating names.
We are more than willing to offer any support we can. We do have an information CD which contains a lot of information and some tools to assist in starting a group. If either of you would like a copy please PM me with your address and will get one sent.
We will be adding a page to the National site soon with pointers on starting a group.
Just for your information I shall also post the press release.
Thanks for your interest
Best regards

Thanks very much for your response Ralph
I hope you will view my initial comments as observations rather than any sort of criticism - I am very interested in getting involved and like Simon and Slimer would welcome any assistance you can offer if we agree to form a group.
As well as any comments posted here - we have a South East disco3.co.uk meet on the 26th April and I'm sure that we will be discussing this further then.
In the mean time I'll PM you for a CD.
Thanks

some crag members are well involed with the 4x4 reponce .it is a well worth while project.winter gone crag helped powys cc with some stuff with 4x4 responce .
some older groups have been around for some time like ones in the south west .but more and more are croping up thats why a national one is being formed to help standardise things and help create new groups .
well worth doing if you ask me CRAG-uk.org
