Not necessarily, depends who you talk to, double check before committing to a policy with them

Really? It was just green lane cover last time I asked them which every insurer does (not that they could cover a new D3 when I enquired - worth too much for them to cover Rolling Eyes )

LR Insurance have been particularly $hite in dealing with some issues I've had with them recently, though I don't believe that's the norm and I've just been unlucky. They're far from the cheapest but the only insurer I'm aware of that has been proven to pay out for damage caused off-road - not that others won't/don't just nobody has posted on here to confirm it

I am with Adrian Flux and they sent me confirmation in writing that off roading and not just green lanes were covered as long as it was not for time trials, rallies or competitions. It is actually a Norwich Union policy via them as a special 4x4 policy.

I got the same letter Thumbs Up

And from there website "And green laning and off-roading use is included as standard on most policies." http://www.adrianflux.co.uk/4x4-detail-go.php

Just make sure your on the right policy.

I had to ask for it though, it's not mentioned in any of the policy documents. As mentioned it says it on the website, but not in the policy which is a bit risky, hence I got the letter with my policy number on it.

I would recommend if you go with them that you get it in writing just to be on the safe side.

I think that goes for any insurer and get it before paying for the cover. I spent a month trying to get the same out of the lying b Censored ds at MSE a few years ago, when it finally turned up (printed on plain paper with absolutely nothing to suggest it was even vaguely official) it was so restrictive it wasn't worth having. The End

So who do you recommend Si ?

My cover fully comp, 3 yrs GAP, off road cover, business cover for myself and wife (inc foster child and child minding) is only £400 per annum.

Cheaper than the Freelander Shocked

My D1 is insured with NFU and I'm about to get them to quote on the D3. I always assumed that the D1 was covered for green laning and off road events i.e. a driver training day but I've just gone through the policy wording and can find no specific reference to being covered for these activities Shocked

Have you got something from the NFU in writing or have I missed something in the policy wording?
