Bizarre - Used Prices again!
WTF is going on with used D3 values?
Just got an email from webuyanycar.com saying that the D3 I sold last month (not to them incidentally) has increased in value and would now be worth £16k It was only a 55 plate S Auto in Rimini Red, not the most desirable colour and basic spec, how on earth could it be worth that much as a trade price????2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

average price of an 06 HSE has gone up by £3k apparently as more people would rather have the D3 than pay the extra for a D4. production limits have also added to second hand values. I'm also guessing that the knee jerk reaction to the VED changes has worn off
Cant remember where I read it.....Duncan

When I bought my new XS in January 09 the finance companies had taken fright over residual values and set a GFV of about £8,500. This was based on 4 years and 80,000 miles. I'm hoping values stay high for another 3.5 years as it could make my cost to change quite palatable!

I just valued the HSE I sold back in March.
I got 9k for it against my 6mth old 58 HSE, and to be honest at the time thought I had done rather well.
It had 123k on it, If I had kept it, it would have 140k on it now, todays valuation 10,325

Nice how they used a pic of the D3 considering that probably 99% of them sold in the UK are diesel and not petrol (which is what the article is about) 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Forgot to mention this, it may be of interest - but when at the dealers today I was offered the same price I paid for my D3 a year ago - even though I have added an extra 14k to the mileage. Oh and that had nothing to do with buying another vehicle!
Evidently the demand for relatively low mileage D3's is enormous, my dealer has several pre-enjoyed D3's, all the low mileage ones had been sold, and as far as I could see for top dollar...
So what does that tell us...... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE auto, Cairns Blue, Lamp Guards, LR Roof Bars - Just love it!

1 month and 1200 miles on I had a mail on 19/9 saying it's now worth £17,345
