really petty issue - but bear with me
On the old 55 plate S, when the lights were on, there wasnt a little green light on the dash telling me so (just the whole dash lit up!)
On the new 09 plate, there is a stupid little green light, bottomish/leftlist side of the display thats on, very bright, and its p!ssing me off, as for some reason, a bit like a a bird with big *****, my eyes are constantly drawn to it.
Can it be disabled/turned off/bulb/fuse taken out, or is a round black sticker going to have to come to the rescue.

No, you get used to it. TBH, if mine DIDN'T have it, i'd have been as hacked off as you, but for the opposite reason.
This is one feature I wish mine had... In certain light it's difficult to tell if lights are on or off when using the automatic setting on the lights. As you slide down the banister of life

Ah - never used the automatic setting on the old one
I guess after being used to a simple dash set up, this one looks clutered, with the clock, and the EXT in front of the temp (which I dont recall the old one having - it had the temp, just not the extra word, I think)
must be getting old - too much stuff to have to take in

Have driving lamps fitted with the official switch/kit and leave them activated all the time
The little orange light on the switch then neatly functions as a 'lights on' indicator Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

nope - unless TFC wired mine wrong (what do you think? ) on mine the orange light was an indicator of if the driving lamps were 'active' when the button is depressed NOT an indicator of the lamps being on
so having the main light control on Auto and the driving lamp switch permanently depressed gave me a nice indicator of 'lights on' - flashing someone with your main beam always gave them the 4 bulb effect but hey why not if you have them fitted?
