Irritating noise

Have now done 500 miles in TDV6 S Auto. In last 2 days noticed 'clink' noise in auto box gear lever when applying footbrake and releasing if car is in N or P position. The movement is the link which allows the gear lever to be moved between D N R & P and this can be sensed through the top of the lever.

Does not affect performance but it did not seem to be there previously and I wonder if something has come loose, or whether this is a normal trait.

Any comments gratefully appreciated.

My TDV6 HSE does this.

I'm not inclined to worry about it, until someone confirms it is actually a problem!
 D1 Tdi200s done. D2 V8 ES done. D3 TDV6 HSE now Smile

My TDV6 HSE auto has done 53k miles doesn’t do it. I would take it back to the dealer and get it checked out. Wink

Thanks for your comments. I have taken it back to main dealers today and been advised it is a noisy solenoid which they will replace. Aparently it is very unusual in Discovery, but a known problem in certain freelanders.
