Protec magnetic panels to protect bodywork when off-road

This was found by Gurvan in another thread, but I thought it was so interesting it deserved it's own thread.
See http://www.protec-magnet.com/PMlandrover/landrover1.html
They sell magnetic panels that protect the paintwork from scratches when going off-road. Looks an excellent idea.

Maybe worth organising a group purchase and help on the european shipping costs/import. Anyone speak French? Laughing

Did anyone here already buy such magenetic panels?

Do they stay on well? Are they easily attached/removed? Do you like them?

Thanks,

Klaas

This week end in Burgundy, I could test for the first time my protect magnet kit.
I added some stickers there.
Result this morning after washing, the body is perfect although the plastics are very marked by the vegetation of the ways which we took.

They won't protect the edge of the bonnet or the A and B pillars. Like Simon says, the wheels cop the most damage.

So - an open question this one - what are the options for protecting the wheels?

There's a 17" set on ebay for £500 (are they BJP's?) - and since my disposable income is generally disposed of on my behalf every month by others, thats reasonably expensive Wink Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

£500 is expensive, you can usually get them for 2 - 3 hundred.
