LR have recently released patch 2 for WDS disc 13, it has new tunes for all TDV6 models.

Can you list any problems the patch is going to resolve?

What does patch 2 do?
Will the patch over write the tune you placed into my car?. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I do not know exactly what it fixes at this time as LR have not released the patch notes yet, i suspect it has something too do with extreme coldstarting but i might be wrong.
I should know a bit more about it in a few days.
Yes this patch will overwrite tunes if it is applied too your vehicle, should that happen we would put it back into a tuned state for you with the newest patch.

Do you know if it helps keep the revs up a bit when you change from 1st to 2nd on a manual gearbox'd D3 ?
Nothing on GTR yet about this.

there isn't any release notes as yet, just the patch (all 9.4MB )

Ive seen the vane sticking problem myself a few times.
My dealer suggested a couple of weeks ago that my turbo vanes may be sticking, given the delay of power from low-revs. Seemed to think that the issue was very new and had only just been fully understood. Are there any other symptoms that I should be looking for?
I hope it will make Chris from Turbochip rest a little easier, I think I have caused a little head-scratching. Post upgrade my car does 0-60 in about 11 or so seconds. Not much difference from book figures. When he reset it to a ‘standard’ map the car took over 13 seconds and was gutless. The mid-range is almost unaffected and remains very strong with TC upgrade.
I suppose my remap will be wiped by the dealer with such a major patch too. Less than ideal.

We have replaced a turbo that was seized solid on the vane, it did however produce faultcodes for like boost pressure unfeasible etc etc
Maybe yours is starting too stick like this.

The strange thing is that my car is producing no error codes - it has been checked twice by TC and once by my dealer. The original thought was that is was the MAF, but again no fault codes.

Hi Robbie!
I am having similar problems with my tdv6 auto. Very slow and letargic on low revs, but it gets punchy after. Also I have a very, very low mpg (17-19). I had my turbo replaced 6 weeks back, but stil not joy. I will go back to my dealer to request an upgrade to patch 2 and to have a look at the variable vanes in the turbocharger. Could you please let me know if you manage to fix your car and how?
