Whilst I am sure someone will be along with the info you need soon, I could not help opening this thread "I need a live in cab"
I was about to offer you a camper conversion contact, now I know otherwise

I think 10forcash mentioned in one of his post that their is a permanent 10A feed to A/C unit. On my (LR's) circuit diagram (which is 1 year old), it is there on C2655 connector pin #1 (green/purple wire). Has to be checked out, as I already found out couple of times that what is written on the LR instruction not necessary 100% true.

Thanks for the compliment Pelyma. I am afraid that I will have to alter my signature and motor list as I have had a change round for year end.
D3 HSE gone as mileage was creeping up
TD6 vogue was 3 years old almost and was due to run out of warranty and we have had a lot of trouble with it so did not want to take the risk
But we have had another D3 7 seater for the wife and kids .this time I am not buying a high spec for the little treasures to draw and stomp all over it plus all the other usual things new born & 4 and 5 year olds get up too
Plus I am afraid I have defected to the jap side and brought myself a land cruiser VX 4.2d 94 M. this one I have got to use laning and off road .as with the defender I was getting bored with as I cant do any thing more to it as regards gismos and such so that’s up for sale next. it has been a great motor but I feel like a change and the gaffer wants me to take the little ones with me some times now they are getting older (god help me)CRAG-uk.org

Ray,
I've run a new cable from the battery, through the bulkhead then under the centre console to the back, where my computer will go.
Could you tell me what screen you're going to use? How does it fit?
Thanks
Andy.

i have looked at runing a cable from the batt to the cab area .but there is a hell of a lot of stuff in the way to get round behind the glove box.can you tell me where and how ?
as regards the screen /pc .i have made a little car`based pc with linitx stuff the pc is about the size of a car stero but may be slighty deeper .it runs on a via mother board with a via 1G chip which runs nice and cool.and the screen is a 8'' tft touch screen runing off the pc.it will stand on the space where the satnav goes .the power supply is intelegent 12vto12v to protect from over and under volting all this fits inside the pc case.
the mapping program is one a freind has wrote for laning and other things just like memory map and all the others but much much faster .hopfully soon to be on the selves in the shops this year.i am what is called his beta tester i think .i have 1:50,000 & 1:25000 at the mo being tested with this program.CRAG-uk.org

The way to run a new cable is to come from the battery, across into the '2nd battery box' (opposite the battery box, on the driver's side) then if you look at the back you'll see a blind grommet. Pull that out, make a hole in it, thread the new cable into it and replace.
The cable comes out inside the cavity below the steering wheel. Easy then to feed under the centre console.
Exactly what make/model of touch screen? I've been trying to find one of the right size; I have the PC built.
Thanks
Andy.

Thanks for that Ray - wouldn't the 7" one they have fit better? Looks like its exactly the same width as the centre hole.

double check that as they do two types i think a 4:3 and a wide screen version
i have not botherd trying to get it to fit i just used the stand and fited it to the flat bit
but if you realy want over kill i have a 12v 15'' touch sceen tft in my defender using the same pc but with a bigger power pack.i have cut out the dash and lost the sterio but what the hell i can see the lanes great when i out and about .god i need it as we all know how bumpy it is in the 90 .so a nice big screen helps loads.plus it realy impresses the police and other when they say i am not susposed to be wher i am .i just point them to the sceen and there it is OS map plus if i have done my resurch the lane id number and class i.e ucr and so on .and i i realy want to impress them some times i have a photograph copy of the definative map or list of street from that county on the pc .its great seeing them see the light and also make the unbelivers give us some repect for the efort into the corectness of the data i hold .CRAG-uk.org
