Neil
This GB was only intended as a fast purchase for those that "I need one NOW" and not for a protracted Group Buy.
As you obviously feel so strongly could I suggest that for those that need to consider whether they want/need a Patriot Roof Rack that you set up a group Buy in slower time than this one was intended for. I am sure that the supplier will be only too pleased to offer the same terms.
In the mean time anyone can still jump onto this purchase.

Just read this on the Patriot Roofracks site....I looked into one of these before and crossed off my list as their site states "We are still working on a rack for vehicles fitted with Land Rovers GPS module."
I think you'll find this means if you've got the "shark fin" as in a HSE, the rack will not fit....Maybe wrong though. Formerly Blakey

My supplier is now on the case. BUT the site was last updated FEB 2007. So hopefully they've sorted it out now. We can't be the only ones after a rack with a shark fin fitted to our D3's. Can we??? HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Spoken to Patriot about this alleged problem with the pod on the roof who confirm that it is not a problem. The issue was resolved many many months ago.
Afraid it is like a lot of web sites, once set up no one accepts responsibility for keeping it up to date, this one is no exception.

My understanding of the weight limit for the Patriot Rack is that it is well in excess of the maximum Land Rover recommended limit for the D3.

That LR weight limit (75Kg AFAIR) includes the weight of the rack itself, something to consider.....
I'm sure the D3 and rack will hold far more than LR recommend though I suspect the limit is more to do with stability than strength, the more you put on the roof the higher your CoG gets (and the lower your MPGs gets too ) The End

To be fair if we purchased cars on economy and MPG we wouldn't have a D3 HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE
