Buy now or wait
Hi,
New here! anyway straight to the point. Seriously considering getting a
(used) Disco 3 as my next car. The question is, is now really the wrong time to buy?
With the impending release of the Disco 4 I guess prices (at main dealers) are still high. Do you think it’s worth waiting a couple of months & prices should settle down a bit? I’m in no great rush so I’m prepared to wait a couple of months (max).
Maybe even better choice of stock due to part ex’s etc. Any advice would be appreciated.
I'm afraid my crystal ball is on the blink today. The word on the street is stealers are desparate for stock and can pretty much shift everything they get, hence the high forecourt prices. Prices are much stronger than they were this time last year. Have a look at this thread - http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post504240.html - as an example.
webuyanycar.com are notorious for undervaluing so if I was to try to sell to a stealer I'd be looking at very low depreciation. But I'm not. I'm keeping one of the best cars I've ever bought.

I'm in the same boat, I keep looking to see if anything pops up close by but I think I am going to wait until after christmas when I think enough people will have traded in or be selling in order to get a D4.

Prices are very high now but that may also be partly due to the fact that prices crashed a while back and are now recovering. Choice on the forecourts is limited too. Dealers are paying silly prices for stock so personally if you are not in a rush I would hang back a couple of months and see what happens.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Don't leave it too late otherwise you will be handing the Chancellor an extra wedge of VAT when the rate goes back up to 17%Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300
