Any one had problems with the paint work on a Disco 3? Looking really for feed back on genuine L R piant defects?

Thanks Confused

Is this in general or related to a specific area on the car? Thumbs Up

Thanks

basically defects on the bottom of the doors. Looks like a piece of dirt/rust! under the paint bursting through the paint work.Size of a pen nib is the best way to discribe it?

I have had corrosion on door bottoms repaired. Not warranty work as due to stone chips. The area where the rear door splays out in front of the wheel arch spats.........right mess

I was surprised as I have side steps which with the mud flaps do keep a lot of stuff off the paintwork.

You are right its dirt in the paint and de-nibbing is the process if your car is an 06 might have a prob getting LR to sort-

Isn't the paintwork warranty longer than the mechanical/electrical warranty?

yes it is, 6 years I think, but like most warrantys if you have to claim it is wear and tear and hence your fault Whistle

I think LR major on the perforation bit though rather than corrosion. If the car bodywork and chassis still maintain shape and you don't fall out it is OK Laughing

I have reported this back in march/early April!!!!.They have been dragging their heals big time.
I could go on but I will await the out come of my concern!! Neutral

The question is "Manufacturing defect or not"

No not the original owner, 2 owners before me. No evidence of previous work at all.
really tidy disco AS i LOOKED AT MANY Yawn and I do look after it. It's not the end of the world but it's not what you would expect on a 3 year old vehicle in this day n age!

If its a Paint inclusion (Shyte in paint) it s been there from the day the panel was painted

Inclusions are there they dont appear after time

If its a rust blister then I'm sure LR will sort provided its OEM paint or if the repair has been untaken to LR standards
