Most reputable tuners will re-install the tune if this happens, your best bet is to give them a call as no one on here is able to answer for them!

Doesn't the whine mean it's failed to some extent . It's not meant to do it, so by definition it has failed as it is outside of it working specification surely. The same could be said about the ball joints otherwise, they haven't fallen apart but the have still failed as they are loose.
To answer your question regarding the permanance or otherwise, tunes like this are flashed to the car's ecu rather than a chip being physically replaced. Some manufacturers re-flash the software more than others when the car goes in to the dealership. LR are one that will quite often reflash to latest factory settings for your particular model if you go in for a fault to be investigated. Tuners have to factor in the potential cost of reapplying your tune when working out their pricing, taking the increased risk of having to do multiple re-applications for certain makes.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
Ken, The tune has definatly been wipe back to it Sluggish former self , less throttle response ect ..

If your Turbochip tune had been overwritten you WILL know, and yes they will do free remaps if you give them the code they issued you when you purchased the remap Duncan

JENKIC01, I think I dealt with Mike at TC but my case was complicated as the supplying dealer did it in such a way that it wasn't going to be a straight reinstall job. Usually free (I paid some travel costs) and you need to dig out your install code. That was never issued for mine, but have one now. Will be an easy and free job to do now as have the secret number!

What can you expect to pay for a remap - and does it invalidate the warranty???
