Sleeping in the D3

I'm going in a MTB event in a couple of weeks and it's over 2 days (http://www.3plus3enduro.com/).

Because I'll be Censored from riding I wasn't keen to pitch a tent so was thinking of sleeping in the Disco. It'll be pretty cold out at Hidden Vale and was wondering if anyone can offer up experience of having slept in their D3?

My plan is to put the 2nd and 3rd row seats down, slide the driver and passanger seats forward then roll out my thin self inflating mattress. I'm wondering how much I'm going to have to leave open for ventilation as well (I need the optimal mix of warmth and remaining alive).

The wife and kids have opted out because it's too cold so it will just be me.

Have done exactly the same post bike ride, at Glentress and Dalby: to be honest was so tired anything will of done as a bed.

As space wasnt an issue I took a cheap air bed; was much more comfy than a thermarest.

Didnt enjoy it as much in the summer as it was too light too early, but the second trip in the winter was fine.

In answer to the ventilation question, I just kept the passenger window open a couple of mm, and unless this is the afterlife or i am in a coma dreaming this, I lived to tell the tale.

Used a cheap gazebo from Band Q over the back door to provide space to cook, clean bike etc

enjoy the race

Yep, here it is in the flesh

Note, your'e best sleeping with your head at the tailgate end as headrests on the folded down seats slope downwards and need a lot of packing to get level.

I use the double & duvet when mrs ronp is with me, but use a single on my own with my cocoon sleeping bag.
With that I keep the rear passenger seat up as it allows me sectioned areas for my gear.
ie coolbox in rear passenger footwell, clothes on the rear seat, food and general kit in the tailgate behind seat / beside my sleeping bag.
Never bothered to open any windows, there's enough air coming through the vents.
Slept out in it in January with a night of snow - it did get a bit cold though.

I know someone has made a raised platform out of plywood and they sleep on top of that. Allowing underneath for storage.

Just press the lock button on the dash & then unlock when you want out.

what's with the flat battery?

Why would I get a flat battery if I left the car unlocked while I slept?
