| Spasmodic exhausting of suspension air cylinder |

I have noticed that on rare occasions (twice in two weeks) the air cylinder exhausts when the car is "asleep", it has occured when I have operated the upper tailgate switch. Following the hiss of the cylinder exhaust valve, the car lowers on the suspension. I leave the suspension in normal road driving height all the time. The car is new and only has covered only 250 miles. Is this normal. *Disco3 7-seat Auto

Not sure if this is normal - but my 2006 model does it too!
Mine also does it occasionally on remote unlock..
Interesting but no problems - so I suspect that it's normal...

Thanks for that thread Martin... now I know it's not just me that waits until no one is about before passing wind...!!! 
Has spooked the cat though....!!
It was really funny - long drive from Preston meant car bonnet nice and warm... blo**y cat gets on bonnet - gets settled - I see that from house window - open window about to shout at cat when D3 'sighs' and settles.!!
Cat thinks twice and legs it!! Has never been near the D3 since...!!!

It is normal, every D3 I've been in company of has done it  06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

It is normal, the same will happen if you try to open either of the front doors when the car is asleep.
The reason is that you 'wake up' the computer by trying the doors or tailgate.
If you don't try the doors or tailgate, the system will wake its self up every two hours anyway, and check that the car is level relative to the ground. It can be quite unnerving when your car 'chufs' for no apparent reason
