EGR valve
I have a 2005 Disco 3 TDV6 which I fetched from Glasgow yesterday. "Engine Fault" displayed in Driver information screen!! I have plugged in a diagnostic which tells me allsorts of things but I think all the faults surround the EGR valve. Its smokes bad and is underpowered. However how do I tell which EGR is faulty?? Are they serviceable or is it best just to replace? Any help out there guys??

What other faults were there?
Engine fault could be EGR valve(s), Turbo failure or an injector playing up...
Or even a blocked fuel filter
To check the EGR's, you need to get a diagnostic scanner capable of live readings. Alternatively, blank off the EGR valvesMy D3 Build Thread

Sounds exactly the same as I had on my 2 06 D3s few months back (error message was Engine System Fault, no lightson dash & naff all go), both needed new turbos, luckily under 3rd party extended warranty.

Hi, just had the same fault with mine. Whilst travelling at high speed the engine system fault came on with the usual bong. Lower power and a bit sluggish. Fault code shows a suspect injector. Independant dealer quotes £200 to fix. Hope this helps.
