passenger side Wing mirror - memory settings

Folks, anyone experienced this or can anyone perhaps help ?

The wing mirror on the passenger side seems to have a mind of its own. When I press memory button 1 to set the seats/mirrors for me, everything moves to the postion I set except the mirror. It will usually turn outwards as far as it can go. Of course I've tried re setting and storing the postions but it seems to make no difference.

All the other items all set perfectly - seat postion / drivers mirror etc etc - it's just this one. To be fair "sometimes" it does work....but mostly it just goes off on one resulting in me having to manually adjust the mirror position back in each time I drive the car.

All help appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Neil

and welcome Thumbs Up

Does it do it on all memory positions? Maybe a loose wire in the mirror. Has it been bashed?

There was a known issue with the module that many had fixed under warranty, but I'm guessing you don't want to hear that. The fix was the replacement of the drivers seat module. IIRC, this caused slightly different behaviour to what you're describing, as with this issue you could set the mirrors back to the correct position by recalling one of the three set positions.

Just before completely giving up, I know that the mirror positions weren't stored properly for reverse unless you had first stored all three normal seat positions. Once these were all set then you could start setting reverse positions. Just in case it makes a difference, ensure all three positions are stored and see if the problem still exists - maybe it's not just the reverse settings that screw up without all three set?

Transgenic tomato anyone?
