Is the dealer just short of work?
Had the suspension pump replaced under warranty last month (05 HSE). Coupe of days ago the "suspension fault" light was back on. Went to the dealer today, told them about the light, the intermittent fault with the top tailgate and rocking back / forward when lifting up from entry height. They also had to replace a door handle that I had broken (dont ask but it was only a 5 min job).
Left the car fist thing in the morning, three hours later they called:
Front suspension strut - warranty job - not in stock
Tailgate handle - warranty job - not in stock
Also -
driveshaft seal - warranty - not in stock
seized rear wiper pivot - not warranty - not in stock £45 (can be fixed with WD40)
Front pads and disks - £376
Rear pads and disks - £351
Battery slightly leaking - £156
I was shocked at the prices given the on-line costs of the pads and disks and battery.
Would anyone want to PM me what they have paid a LR dealer for pads / disk replacement in the past so I can challenge the labour rates?
Also got a quote for renewal of LR warranty, just under a grand for top package with assistance. Hard to justify against Tesco warranty. Dealer claims that if I had a Tesco warranty then I would have to pay and claim but would not have to with LR warranty.... anyone else heard this as the tesco document states that they will pay the garage direct.
Can anyone recommend a good independent in the south east (kent)?
I have searched the forum but have zero ability with a spanner and a jack!!

Thanks for very fast replies
Have been reading form for last year so I thought of 10forcash but he is 140 miles from me. I do 120 mile commute daily as it is so really cant face the journey to the midlands.
I will challenge the dealer next week
Anyone had any issues with the tesco warranty and labour rates, dealer also said that I would have to pay the difference between the aftermarket warranty capped rate and their labour rate.....

Site sponsors AJS 4x4 did my front discs and pads for a shade over £200, and they're just off the M25 north of Reigate, so not too far if you want a recommended alternative.

My local stealer does Tesco claims with me not paying out (Elgin so not much use to you), some dealers can't be arsed and others use this to force you to buy their bog roll policies! My Tesco warranties (on 2 D3s) have paid for themselves many times over!
I understand both 10forcash and Yeovil settle directly with Tescos. TFCs rates are great and he does a bang up job! Shame he lives so far down souff. Good to see his reputation for enjoying a certain Spanish beer precedes him!
