Electronic Park Brake Failures |
|
I have had numerous failures over time since I have had the car - more recently when it locked up and I had to release it with the manual override (which need a fair amount of force) - the dealer has been fantastic in taking care of adjustments and recently total replacement of all components.
I am frustrated that the failure almost always occurs after an off-road trip - going through water or sand driving - is there anything I could do to prevent the failure after going off-road - to prevent the screeching and disruption to have to take it back to be adjusted/cleaned by the dealer - because of the frequency of these events I am almost relunctant to go through water or in sand?
Any advice?

My EPB got the dreaded scream last may. (3 years old 50K) The dealer (Australs) has had the vehicle in twice now and it keeps screaming intermittantly.
Now it is booked in to have the components replaced.
Starting to send me nuts!!
Cheers

Had the motor unit replaced, together with the rear drum components & rear discs - so far so good - I can understand your frustration - had about 5 visits to the dealer for this issue.
