Try resetting your network settings on the iPhone - tends to get rid of most spurious errors.

Thanks john - tried this but no success. The iphone still won't remember the pairing and keeps asking for the PIN twice each time when getting in the car. Crying or Very sad

Is there anyway I can tell from the diagnostics screen what version of bluetooth software is loaded ? hence possibly get it upgraded to the latest release?

I've played with every setting I can and I can't get away from the fact I have to input the PIN not just once everytime I get in the car but twice. Shocked

I'm not too fussed about syncing the phone book etc but it is becoming a royal p.i.t.a keep pairing manually.

Thanks

My iPhone 3g always worked perfectly with my 09 LR3. However, since I upgraded the phone to OS3 it still pairs OK but sometimes when receiving a call I cannot hear the caller. They can hear me OK so phone definitely paired OK, just this audio problem. Anybody else experienced this, any ideas?

Cheers,

I was wondering if the problem is because there is a limit on the number of phones that can be synced. The manual says the limit is 8 and there doesn't appear to be a way of deleting ones that you have synced in the past. I haven't been able to (automatically) sync any phones including my iphone 3GS. I can manually sync each time (as experienced by everyone else). I did call my local dealer and asked if there was a way of wiping the memory. The service department weren't sure if it was possible but said if I took the car in they would try and do it and thought it sounded like a £50 job. God love 'em!

i think when the manual refers to 15 phones synced at the same time, it normally means it will hold 8 live devices, when you add the 9th, it should knock one off !
Try another phone, like a nokia or a blackberry, i think you'll find it works. I believe its a incompatability problem with the LR and Iphone v3 software. I tried the blackberry on my car, when the Iphone 3g was playing up and it worked first time. THe LR main web site doesnt actually say its compatible with 3GS !!!!

Im going to get mine looked at the next service, will keep you posted.

Well it wouldn't would it. The 3GS has only just been released and LR wont do the research and update their website until at least next thursday year. Smile Smile

I have read a number of post / manuals that talk about how many phones the LR unit will pair with but none say what happens if you ever go above that limit... ie does auto delete the oldest or does it have to be cleared down manually.

I'm still looking for a solution for the 3GS so if anyone has a real solution then I'd love to hear it - even if it is to upgrade the BT software in the LR unit. - I'm nervous of paying LR a fat fee for them to upgrade just to be told "oh! it still doesnt work sir....I suggest you change your phone"...... Twisted Evil mmmm very helpful....NOT!

I have found that on incoming calls the iphone does not pass the audio via bluetooth but it stays in the iphone.

If I unlock the iphone and select Audio Source during a call and select Bluetooth it connects via the handsfree and I can hear the caller.

Outgoing calls seem to be fine if initiated from the steering wheel or head unit

As a matter of solidarity, I am seeing the same symptoms with my brand new iPhone 3GS and 2006 LR3 HSE. If anyone thinks it matters, I am using the 2008 navigation DVD, not the original that came with the vehicle (I'll try the older DVD tonight, but I don't expect a change).

This is exactly what is happening in my case with iPhone 3G with OS3 update and LR3 V8 HSE. Doesn't happen every time though.

Almost certainly it is an incompatibility between the OS3 update and the LR Bluetooth, but how to resolve it?

well, I've searched the world wide interweb endlessly looking for a solution for the iphone 3gs...no joy Crying or Very sad

I've decided to get my local LR dealer on the case.... at first they seemed adamant that theres no such thing
as an upgrade to the bluetooth. I pointed out that that was Censored so now they are discussing with Landrover technical (allegedly!)

I'll let you all know what they come back with.

ahhhh....so it's not just me then. Two new toys to celebrate the new job - the D3 and the iPhone 3GS. I too have the double entry code thinghy and have to resync every time the ignition is turned off, bit of a pain when refueling.

so if there is a fix to this I would be very happy.
