Use modellers 'canopy glue', leaves no marks or fogging like cyano (superglue). Thumbs Up

These work OK : -

I did have to cut away a very tiny bit of the plastic base to get them to fit though.

Hi verydisco,

Thanks for your explanation it was an easy peasey modification. I used a heat shrink gun and took about 15 minutes for each side. But you did not mention needing the glass of wine as you did this, which is a critical part of the application.

I confess I don't have the 'orange' bulb yet and wonder who has used the chrome bulb:

If it is any good, I will order this later.

Best regards

Chris

Chris, i used the chrome 1's from the same seller. They work fine, there are 2 tiny pieces of plastic on them that you will need to cut away to make them fit snug. You will see which they are when you get them, only take a couple of secs to cut them off Thumbs Up

Looks a nice mod with your grill Bow down Thumbs Up

Same as above, the plastic used for the base is quite soft and cuts easily with a sharp craft knife, It's ovbious where to cut when you see them Thumbs Up

Yesterday was my second attempt. First one with SWMBO's hairdryer wasn't succesfull. Some tips from my experience which might be helpfull for the next follower;
- I used the oven method. Put it on 80 degrees celcius for about 7 minutes. Allowed me to take the clear lens of in a few minutes.
- Reassembling the unit I used the oven again. 5 minutes on 80 degrees allowed a smooth re-assembly.
- Don't fiddle around to much with the chrome plastic parts and keep your hands clean. The crome comes of really, and I mean really, easy.
- The orange reflecting strip comes of really easy if you heat it up. To cold and it cracks/breaks.

The result:

Nice job Thumbs Up

I am finally going to do this mod. Is the oven method "save" it sounds easier and faster than the hairdryer?
And when you reassemble the light, do you reassemble the unit before you but it to the oven again or heat it up again and then reassemble?

" And when you reassemble the light, do you reassemble the unit before you put it to the oven again or heat it up again and then reassemble? "

I found it easiest to mount the front onto the body but without the screws and then, once heated enough, with a bit of hand pressure, the front will seat properly compressing the softened adhesive and the screws can be replaced and gently tightened.

I reassembled but didn't close it. Once it got warm again I pressed them together.
