I had been looking for a used 'S' Auto D3, possibly part exing my Audi, as selling private is always a hassle.
I was a local LR dealer on Saturday, and as no-one seems to have a used D3 in my price bracket at the minute, I figured I would get them to quote me on a PCP deal for a new one.
The dealer just emailed the figures... 2K under Glass's book for my trade in, 2K discount off group stock D3 (if I can do deal by end of month), and 1K contribution from LR for finance.
Is it just me, or is this taking the p*ss? Or is this typical of what I can expect? I may be forced to sell privately, and keep my eye on non-LR dealers for a used model.

I reckon you could do better, but watch the private sale market. It's really crap at the moment. Just flicked off my Subaru (D3 replaced it) after 2-3 months of trying. It was in excellent condition and priced amongst the lowest in the country, so I wasn't over the top as far as pricing goes.

I got an ex-demo, loaded SE (DVD, steps, privacy, xenons) and got a good deal. Traded in an '04 TD5 and was bid just below book for it. Got the deal arranged just before month end and put immense pressure on them to deliver. Also screwed them down on extras (towbar and bits) just to clinch the deal....... deals are there to be done! RRS 08 SE (new one)

Sell privately and get a discount on new, used D3s don't make sense at the moment.
With the PCP giving 1k and 3k+ discounts on new a new TDV6 Auto 's' can be on the road for a price that starts with a 29.

Be careful with the Freedom offer at the moment. I built a quick spreadsheet to show the difference in interest costs on freedom (with their £1000 offer built in) against a straight sale. Obviously, it depends how you work it in terms of mileage etc, but turns out that it will cost (at least) an ADDITIONAL £3000 in interest charges going down the GMFV route rather than a straight HP deal. The Freedom deals are quoted @ 12.9% APR and most people should be able to get well below 7% or 8% otherwise. The problem is the deferred interest charges on the baloon payment.
If you have no need to 'hand the car back' after 3 years then perhaps 'freedom' should be left to the Bravehearts! 8)

Unnecessary quote removed
Or take the offer up get 1k off the car and settle the finance before the 1st payment.

Yes. That's what my original plan was. I just figured if the difference between a new and used one was small, I might as well at least investigate the option of a new one.
Need to maximise the warranty period on these babies as much as possible!!
