I also concur with you, Caver, if the regulator is in place. My concern is with connecting two vehicles tanks to re-fill one but as you noted the regulator would need to be removed (and as most regulators act as non-return valves, the receiving tank probably can't have a regulator). In this case, a broken hose would discharge the entire tank's air content and whip about dangerously.
